WELCOME TO PRC
Policy Research Centre
Pakistan is going though multifaceted challenges that has developed the need for understanding these issues through a methodical lens. The set of challenges engulfing Pakistan include both the traditional and non-traditional national security domains. Think tanks play an important role in shaping a country’s policies by giving it the gravity of academic and social perspectives. The think tank community in Pakistan has mushroomed in the last one decade as a result of Pakistan’s global connectivity and due to the interest of international donor agencies in Pakistan. Most of these think tanks developed their niches in security domains in particular CVE and PVE. While these issues are vital, other nontraditional security domains such as climate change, economic security, trade, ethnic fault lines, growing youth bulge with ever highest unemployment rate, cyber security, artificial intelligence, and range of other domains have largely been overlooked by the think tanks in Pakistan.
The Policy Research Centre (PRC) aims to provide an independent platform and a conducive environment to sector specialists to study all these issues rigorously and provide critical policy inputs to the government, state institutions and relevant policy actors to help formulate forward looking policies for Pakistan.
